Promotions Exercise
The University runs an annual Promotions Exercise for staff.
The 2012 Promotions Exercise was launched on 16 December 2011. The timetable for Promotions Exercise 2012 is as follows:

| Closing date for applications to Head of School | 7 February 2012 |
| Closing date for Head of School to submit paperwork | 14 February 2012 |
| First meeting of Committee | Early March 2012 |
| Second meeting of Committee | Early May 2012 |
| Staff Promotion Committee | 22 June 2012 |
| Outcome of Applications | 26 June 2012 |
| Closing date for receipt of intimations of intention to appeal | 10 July 2012 |
| Appeals if required | By end of October 2012 |
