Degree Programme - Undergraduate Study
Structure and Content
Courses are available at Levels 1 to 4. There is an Honours degree and a Designated degree in History.
During each of their first two years, intending Honours students normally take at least two History courses, chosen from a series of eight which provide a comprehensive survey of Scottish, European and Euro-related history from the Middle Ages onward. Courses examine a wide variety of periods, places and themes including: medieval history, the history of Scottish (especially in a broad international context), the birth of 'modernity', the rise of 'superpowers' (including the United States of America), the Vikings, Europe in the twentieth century, gender history, the Renaissance and the Reformation.
