Careers - Undergraduate Study
In keeping with the nature of historical study, graduate historians are commonly recruited into a broad range of professions which require the critical analysis of diverse kinds of evidence and the understanding of different aspects of human society and culture which historical education develops. The Department's Employers Liaison Group provides advice on careers matters and includes one History graduate who is now a senior human resources manager with a major bank, another who runs an advertising agency and a third who is employed by the BBC. Many other graduates have embarked on careers as civil servants, accountants and managers. Yet others have become teachers, librarians or archivists.
