Biography
I have published widely in Britain, Europe and the United States on the history of law, sex and family in later medieval Europe. I have also published on the Viking age, Scandinavian Secular Law and the history of the German Hanse. I am currently engaged in the study of the history of the reception of the law of the Church in Scandinavia and the role of the European church in the survival of the Danish kingdom 960-1274. I am also involved in a major European research project on the history of European integration involving 45 universities from Iceland in the West to Turkey in the East which will be active 2006-2011
