
Applications for Admission to Postgraduate Study

Applicants will need to furnish the University with transcripts of their previous academic study and also with the names of two academic referees; if candidates so desire, they may ask their referees to send in their recommendations directly to the University without waiting for a formal notice from the University.
For International students, proof of proficiency is required. For accepted certificates and minimum scores, please see www.abdn.ac.uk/international/english-requirements
Offers cannot be confirmed as unconditional until appropriate evidence of proficiency in English has been supplied.
With regard to postgraduate research, it is not necessary that an applicant have a precise topic for research at the time of application, but it is necessary to choose a particular area of study. In all cases, intending applicants are strongly encouraged to supply details of their proposed area of research at the time of submitting their application form, in the form of a research proposal.
On arrival in Aberdeen, all postgraduate students should register immediately at the School office.
