YoungArchaeologists@Aberdeen welcomes anyone aged 8-16 years who wants to find out more about archaeology and history. The club was established in 1994 and we are based at the University of Aberdeen. We are the Aberdeen branch of the Young Archaeologists' Club national network.

What Do We Do?
We have a varied programme throughout the year focusing on different aspects of archaeology, including hands-on activities, quizzes, art and craft workshops and field trips. We often have experts in archaeology and history come along to our meetings.

Club members get to see behind the scenes at the University of Aberdeen Museums, they can try out experimental archaeology and have the opportunity to take part in larger events, like Scottish Archaeology Month.

When Do We Meet?
We meet once a month, usually on the last Sunday, at the Natural History Centre, Kings College, which gives us lots of opportunities to use museum objects for our activites. Being in Old Aberdeen means we can get out and about very easily to see archaeology in action. In addition, we usually have one field trip each year where we fo exploring out of Aberdeen.

Latest news: We have places available for new members - contact the branch leader now for more information
