Biography
Zahidul Quayyum holds Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics and MA in Economics, both from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also obtained MSc in Health Policy Planning and Financing from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Before joining HERU in March 2007, he worked as Health Economist for the IMMPACT project, University of Aberdeen. Prior to joining University of Aberdeen, he served as faculty member at the Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka. He also worked at the Centre for Health and Population Research (ICDDR,B), Dhaka as Health Economist and Senior Operations Researcher and during 1993-1999. Zahid is also working on his PhD research on development of methods for resource allocation in health sector of Bangladesh.

Research Interests
His research interests include international health - maternal and child health in particular; economic evaluation of maternal health interventions, inequality in maternal and child health, and allocation of health care resources.
