Preference Elicitation and Assessment of Technologies
- Programme Director - Dr Paul McNamee
Research is organised within three themes, Preference Elicitation, Experimental Economics and Assessment of Technologies. The aims of the Preference Elicitation theme are the further development and application of economic methods for valuation that take account of patient experience. In addition, enquiry into the assumptions that underpin techniques of preference elicitation are explored here and within the theme of Experimental Economics, where research applies laboratory based economic experiments to investigate individual choice behaviour. Within Assessment of Technologies, the techniques of economic evaluation are used in research that seeks to inform NHS decision-makers of the value for money of new and existing health care technologies.
