The latest issue of the HERU newsletter announces our new online postgraduate programme in health economics for health professionals and features new, and recently completed, research projects, alongside news of recent events and activities.
The new online MSc/PgDip/PgCert starts this year and is a development of our long-running postgraduate certificate programme in health economics.
The newsletter highlights two new research projects, and one recently-completed project, involving economic evaluations alongside clinical trials. The new projects are the RAACENO trial, concerned with childhood asthma exacerbations, and the C-GALL trial which will compare surgery to conservative management for patients with cholecystitis due to gallstones. The recently-completed PROSPECT trial on surgical repair treatments for women with pelvic organ prolapse is also featured. The results of the clinical trial informed the final report of the Scottish Independent Review on mesh implants.
The newsletter also features updates from recent events, including the end of project conference from the MUNROS project on the impact on practice, outcomes and costs of new roles for health professionals.
