The 5th Annual Research Symposium took place on 16 March 2017 at the COSLA Conference Centre in Edinburgh.

The theme of the event was 'Evidence for sustainability - exploring the current evidence underpinning ways to create sustainable health and care systems'.

The event was organised by Healthcare Improvement for Scotland (HIS), Health Economics Research Unit (HERU), Health Sciences Research Unit (HSRU), Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health Professions Research Unit (NMAHP-RU).

Speakers included:

  • Donal O’Donoghue, Medical Director, Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network.
  • Tom Jefford, Head of Youth Services, Cambridgeshire County Council.
  • Graham Scotland, Senior Research Fellow, Health Services Research Unit/Health Economics Research Unit, Aberdeen.
  • Christine Bond, Chair in General Practice and Primary Care, University of Aberdeen.
