Evidence for sustainability: Exploring the current evidence underpinning ways to create
sustainable health and care systems.

HERU are joining with Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS), the Health Services Research Unit (HSRU) and the Nursing, Maternity and Allied Health Professions Research Unit (NMAHP-RU) in presenting the 5th Annual Research Symposium.

Programme includes:

• Donal O’Donoghue, Medical Director, Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network.

• Tom Jefford, Head of Youth Services, Cambridgeshire County Council.

• Graham Scotland, Senior Research Fellow, Health Economics Research Unit, Aberdeen.

• Christine Bond, Chair in General Practice and Primary Care, University of Aberdeen.

Open call for presentationsAbstract submissions are invited for short oral (10 mins) and elevator pitch (3 mins with poster)presentations on the theme of the conference. Presentations may relate to the development or application of evidence to achieve financially and environmentally sustainable health and care services healthcare services or on use of evidence to achieve sustainability in quality improvement of services. There will be a prize for the best presentation.

Abstracts can be submitted using the headings introduction, methods, results and conclusions and should be of no more than 400 words. Please also indicate which presentation format you would prefer. All posters should be formatted in portrait style and suitable for electronic presentation as we do not have exhibition space.

The closing date for abstracts is Monday 12 December 2016 and these should be sent to Annualresearch.symposium@nhs.net
