Delegate Feedback report
17 delegates from 10 organisations attended the Henley-Aberdeen Partnership Understanding the Economy Event. 11 out of 17 completed the feedback form either on the day or though the member’s area online – a response rate of 64.7%. Below is a summary of the quantitative feedback received in regards to the following questions:
- The event met my objectives for the day;
- The speaker provided a stimulating, thought provoking and informative learning experience;
- The event was well organised;
- The event facilities including catering, venue and accommodation (if applicable) were of a high standard;

The event met my objectives for the day
The results above show that 80% of respondents strongly agreed that they’re objectives for the day had been met, with a further 10% slightly agreeing with this statement and 10% agreeing with this statement. One delegate explained:
“Very good session - the only reason I state above that I slightly agree that my objectives for the day were met is as a banker I was aware of a large proportion of the conversation around the banking markets and squeeze on funding. I was keen to develop a new understanding and perspective but I already knew much of this detail. This is down to my profession and not a negative reflection on the content or the speaker - I would have scored the event 10/10 without this level of background knowledge.”
The speaker provided a stimulating, thought provoking and informative learning experience
The results show that 100% of respondents strongly agreed that the speaker provided a stimulating and thought provoking learning experience. Below are some of the comments made by delegates:
“Great Speaker kept the attention of the delegation well and provided excellent examples”.
“A very interesting and thought provoking day which I thoroughly enjoyed participating in”.
“Really good topical update, Pace and engagement”.
The Event was well organised
The results show that 90% of respondents strongly agreed that the event was well organised with 10% agreeing that the event was well organised. Verbal feedback from the day has shown that some delegates would prefer a more structured approach to the learning and a summation at the end of the day to draw together what has been learnt during the day would be useful. We will take this forward with the future events.
The facilities were of a high standard
80% of respondents strongly agreed that the facilities were of a high standard with 20% agreeing with this statement. Verbal feedback from the day has been taken forward with the venue regarding such items as additional coffee provided in the morning. All feedback regarding the venue has been passed on to the Ardoe House team and we look forward to our next event with them.
What was the most useful thing you learned from the event?
“How interactive finances and banking are with the whole functionality of the economy”
“Understanding the bank balance sheet and how banks really work”
“A really interesting perspective on the UK and Global Economy and how there are extremely interesting interactions at work. I especially enjoyed the political insights - all in all excellent”
“Down to earth realistic view on economy and money supply and what can effect growth”
“How the UK Economy really works”
“A very useful day in understanding the economy told in layman terms. Totally feel that I learnt a great deal and had the opportunity to reflect on something which we are all aware of but don't really pay a lot of 'real' attention to”
“The clarity on the various factors impacting the economy in the UK and globally was excellently put across in layman’s terms”
“Impact of the money supply into the system. The lack of bank funding and availability of credit has been a trigger for QE. I didn't fully understand this previously. Potential for the bubble to burst in China. Very interesting to see the historical comparables here.”
