Training

Two new Level 3/4 Theme 6th Century Courses are currently in preparation which should be available from beginning of the 2013 – 14 session:

  1. Food, Nutrition and Society
    This course aims to highlight the physiological, societal, geographical, historical and cultural impacts of food and diet in our society (including topics such as food availability, politics and health; health properties of traditional versus modern food, food addiction, food and religion; politics and global food issues; clinical nutrition; dieting; personalised nutrition etc.).   2. Consciousness
    The mystery of consciousness is one of the most exciting and challenging fields in human endeavour. Consciousness provides a truly inter-disciplinary topic with relevance across both the sciences and the humanities. This innovative Sixth Century course aimed at level 3 and level 4 students will present cutting-edge research using a clear inter-disciplinary perspective. The course brings together the disciplines of divinity, psychology, and medicine, with a particular focus on the clinical and health-based aspects of consciousness studies.
