Submission of an Expression of Interest

In December 2013, the Theme submitted an Expression of Interest to the Joined Programme Initiative 'a Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life' in order to become a member of the "Determinants of Diet and Physical Activity" Knowledge Hub (DEDIPAC KH).

In December 2013, the Theme submitted an Expression of Interest to the Joined Programme Initiative ‘a Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life’ in order to become a member of the “Determinants of Diet and Physical Activity” Knowledge Hub (DEDIPAC KH). The goal of this European knowledge hub is:

• To boost transnational co‐operation, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary networking collaboration and communication
• To integrate biological, behavioural and social sciences expertise, knowledge, facilities and databases for a better understanding of how individual, social and environmental determinants influence food and physical activity choices.
• To implement strategies and innovative tools for collection, sharing and dissemination of research outcomes among all stakeholders

We have, based on our submitted Expression of Interest, now been invited to participate in the Joint Programme Initiative DEDIPAC Knowledge Hub. Our application was rated as highly valuable for the future European network. This is very good news for Aberdeen, and indeed a significant first success for the Theme ‘Pathways to a Healthy Life’ in terms of positioning ourselves for the large future European initiatives in the area of health, diet and physical activity.
