    November 2012 Graduation Ceremonies

If you wish to attend any of the ceremonies and take part in the Procession please complete the form as necessary. The limitations of accommodation make it impossible to guarantee tickets for members of staff who do not take part in the Processions. The November Graduation Ceremonies will take place in the Elphinstone Hall, King's College, as indicated on the Schedule of Ceremonies. Please note that you are asked to respond no later than 26 October.

Those taking part in the Procession should assemble in the James Mackay Hall, King's College, as follows:

Thursday 29 November 11am no later than 10.35
Thursday 29 November 3pm no later than 2.35
Friday 30 November 11am no later than 10.35
Friday 30 November 3pm no later than 2.35

All members of the University taking part in the Procession should wear dark clothes and (if entitled to do so) academic dress, with the gentlemen wearing white bow ties. Ede & Ravenscroft have been appointed as the University's official robe suppliers and will provide staff with academic dress without charge providing the order is placed before the deadline. If you wish to order academic dress, please indicate your requirements on the form.

Subject to availability, those who process will be offered a ticket for their spouse/guest for any ceremony at which they will take part. Due to the limited capacity of Elphinstone Hall those requesting guest tickets will be allocated tickets for the King's College Conference Centre, where the ceremonies will be shown via live video link. If you wish to obtain such a ticket for any of the ceremonies please indicate this also on the form.

Guest tickets and Processing instructions will be despatched, approximately one week before the graduation ceremonies. Those processing will not require a graduation ticket.

It is necessary for me to know by 26 October how many will be attending the ceremonies so that the number of tickets available for distribution to graduands can be assessed and to enable us to place the staff gown order in sufficient time to avoid staff being charged for the hire of their robes. The Firemaster has insisted that we adhere rigidly to the maximum seating he has authorised for graduation ceremonies. Your cooperation in returning the form by this date will be very much appreciated.

    Yours sincerely,

    Dr Rachael Bernard
