King's College Campus

The University is undertaking a programme of conservation to protect and promote its unique Renaissance heritage. This highly-specialised work uses sensitive and traditional techniques to restore the work of Scotland's finest stonemasons and craftspeople and safeguard it for the future, securing this proud inheritance for the benefit of future generations.

The award-winning King's College Conservation Programme is directed by the University of Aberdeen Estates team with architectural, technical and specialist support from Acanthus Architects Douglas Forrest.

The project team has already scooped awards for the restoration of the Powis Gates, and the completion of a unique conservation project undertaken over spring and summer 2008 on the magnificent Crown Tower atop King’s College Chapel.

There are a variety of opportunities for individuals, groups and organisations to be acknowledged as contributors to the conservation of these important architectural and cultural gems in the history of Aberdeen and Scotland.

The conservation programme includes:
