Our history is integrated with our city and region. Today the connections extend into Europe and beyond. As globalisation deepens, countries become ever more entwined and challenges that were once regional are now global. The University of Aberdeen strives to contribute to its wider community and collaboratively find the solutions to global problems.
Over the years the University has made many pioneering discoveries including the first clinical use of MRI scanning over 30 years ago. More recently, University research has developed a unique treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease and continues to search for the cure. If you have been affected by a disease or an illness such as cancer or osteoporosis then we have a research programme for you to support.
