Library
As the flagship £57 million project of our Sixth Century Campaign, our iconic new Library is providing the most advanced learning and research environment to our students and staff and scholars from all over the world.
The inspirational generosity of over 3,000 donors was invaluable in making this project a reality, and this support is acknowledged throughout the building as an expression of our appreciation.
Student Experience
The university experience is an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and try new things. A gift supporting the Student Experience helps student clubs and societies as well as interest groups and support services. Funds are used in a variety of ways from purchasing equipment to providing transport to competitive events, things that would have otherwise been impossible to achieve through the groups own limited budgets.
Since 1998, alumni and friends have donated more than £2.5m through our regular giving programme to help improve the student experience.
Suttie Centre
This £20 million state-of-the-art centre developed in collaboration with NHS Grampian, is used by students, healthcare staff and practitioners and the general public. This centre of excellence ensures that the north-east of Scotland is right at the forefront of healthcare services and medical education driving developments in training clinical professionals.
Aquatics Centre
Initiated under the Sixth Century Campaign, we continue to raise funds for both the build of the new pool and its innovative technology, such as the dividing boom and floating floor, which will enable the facilities to be tailored to the needs of both elite swimmers and the local community. These will allow the pools to be split and used for different activities simultaneously, encouraging participation at all ages and abilities.
Widening Access: Scholarships
Entrance Scholarships are available each year and are supported by our alumni, both through the regular giving programme and from individuals and corporate donors. These scholarships are primarily based on academic merit and financial need and give students the opportunity to attend university whilst relieving the financial pressure.
Supporting scholarships enables personal connections to be made and recipients ensure their donors are updated about their activities and have the opportunity to meet at an annual scholars reception.
