Mr Rhod Sharp

President

Since 1994 Rhod Sharp has presented Up All Night on BBC Radio 5 Live, once described by the Washington Post as 'probably the best night time radio show in the world' and which, in its early years, took 4 Sony Radio Awards.

Rhod studied English at Aberdeen and graduated with honors in 1975. He was then selected as scholar of the St Andrews Society of New York and studied widely at Princeton University in both the graduate and undergraduate schools. Since 1976 he has been a BBC news trainee, BBC TV news scriptwriter and reporter for London Broadcasting. He helped to start the independent Radio Tay in Dundee and then freelanced for mostly British news outlets in California for 6 years until 1987.

In 1987 he moved with his wife Vicki to London, first as a reporter for BBC World Service then as duty foreign editor at Channel 4 News and BBC News. In 2008 they moved full time to Marblehead, Massachusetts where he continues to broadcast for the BBC.
