Mr Day graduated from Cornell University in 1959 with a BA in Economics before serving as a Navy Officer for three years, primarily in the Far East. Upon leaving the Navy, he worked for Colgate Palmolive Co in their corporate accounting and budgeting departments while gaining an MBA in Finance & Investments at the Baruch School, City College of New York.
A role as Assistant Controller at Johnson & Johnson company followed before moving into the fine china and glass industry with executive positions at Kosta Boda USA Ltd. and Royal Worcester Spode Inc.He was Executive Vice President of Caithness Glass Inc from 1984 until 2002 during which time he started the U.S. arm of the company.
