The close relationship between the US and the University of Aberdeen is symbolized by the UADT USA which brings together graduates and friends of the University who give of their time and experience to encourage and facilitate support from the United States.
The UADT USA was incorporated on September 14, 1994 and is an American (Missouri) 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation (EIN# 52-1970587) dedicated to charitable and educational purposes. As an independent charity, the UADT USA makes and monitors grants to the University in a manner that allows US donors to benefit from charitable deductions available to US taxpayers.
The UADT USA is independent of the University of Aberdeen. The Board of the UADT USA ensures that it remains in full control of monies received, determining which projects are deserving of support, and ensuring that all funds granted for approved projects are used solely in furtherance of UADT USA's charitable and educational purposes.
