Experimenting with prehistoric pottering techniquesIn the fourth year, for students intending to graduate with Honours, you will be required to write a dissertation.

A dissertation is an original piece of research of approximately 10,000 words, on an archaeological topic of your choosing, enabling you to deepen your specialist knowledge of areas that especially interest you.

Student topics will be supervised by staff with subject-specific expertise.

Dissertations may range from:

  • small-scale field-based or lab projects to case-studies
  • overviews of research questions
  • experimental work
