Structural geology, fractures, field-based structural geology; geological interpretation of geophysical data sets and socio-psychological influences; interactions between deformation localisation and reaction.

Training and Teaching

Clare is responsible for developing continual professional development courses in geology. Clare also teaches on the MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geology and on field classes in the NW Highlands and French Alps.

Mapping Mountains
‘An exhibition of 1880s Geological Maps and outreach to local schools‘.
Co-organised with Prof. Rob Butler (University of Aberdeen). Funded by BHPBilliton, Hess, Scottish Natural Heritage, the British Geological Survey and a Royal Society Education Partnership Grant (totalling £11,968). 2007-2009 www.mappingmountains.com
