International Women’s Day
To celebrate International Women’s Day in Aberdeen this year we will be screening ‘Women Art Revolution’, the 2010 film by Lynn Hershman-Leeson, at 2pm on Saturday March 10th at the Belmont Picturehouse. This will be followed by a series of academic talks, live debate, burlesque dance, and comedy performances from 4pm at the Bar Below in the Belmont.

This event is in collaboration with the local artists Merlyn Riggs and Norma D. Hunter, who will be staging two separate performances to celebrate the Day. Both events will be Participatory Art pieces based on the theme of Fairy Tales.
Norma's artwork will take place on Thursday March 8th at 10am until 12 mid-day in Union Terrace Gardens. Norma's art is about walking.
Merlyn's event will be on Saturday 10th March from 10 am until 12 mid-day in The Golden Zone (outside Marks and Spencer).

Please note: tickets to the screening itself will be £5. Tickets will be available for purchase from the Belmont Picturehouse, (link). Attendance to non-ticket holders for the talks and performances in the Bar Below is free but spaces may be limited. Arrive by 4pm to avoid disappointment.
