Brief Description
This exciting scholarship opportunity is available to North American students pursuing any* undergraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen. (*With the exception of Medicine)
Description
The University recognises academic excellence. The scholarship award is provided in the final year of study and is based on continual academic achievement during a student's period of study at the University prior to this.
The scholarship award includes:
Tuition fee discount in the final year of study, based on the student's academic achievements prior to this at Aberdeen
Eligibility
Students must have:
1. US or Canadian citizenship and/or domicility
2. Overseas fee status
3. Registered for an undergraduate degree*
* With the exception of medicine. Those with advanced entry are also eligible.
Criteria
The scholarship award in the final year is based on academic merit, and is calculated on the number of semesters the student achieves College Honour Roll status (achieving a CAS 16.0 or above per semester) prior to their final year of study at the University. The award level is calculated as follows:
For those undertaking a four-year degree:
4 of 6 semesters on Honour Roll = 25% fee waiver in final / fourth year
5 of 6 semesters on Honour Roll = 50% fee waiver in final / fourth year
6 of 6 semesters on Honour Roll = 75% fee waiver in final / fourth year
For those undertaking a three-year degree:
3 of 4 semesters on Honour Roll = 25% fee waiver in final / third year
4 of 4 semesters on Honour Roll = 50% fee waiver in final / third year
For those undertaking a two-year degree e.g. Accelerated LLB:
2 of 2 semesters on Honour Roll = 25 % fee waiver in final / second year
Application Procedure
Students who are eligible will be identified automatically by the University and will be contacted within the first couple of weeks of study to learn more about the Merit Scholarship.
