We are delighted to invite applications for a three-year fully-funded AHRC doctoral studentship in French and Francophone Studies commencing September 2012. Awards cover fees (at UK/EU rates) and maintenance.
We are also pleased to offer two doctoral scholarships of £3,300 per year (the equivalent of UK/EU fees) for up to four years.
Aberdeen has again been ranked the no.1 French department in Scotland according to the RAE exercise in 2008, and among the top 5 in the UK in terms of the proportion of publications, and the quality of the research environment and esteem indicators that have been classified as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
We were also given top marks of 100% in a recent National Student Satisfaction Survey.
The Department of French provides a dynamic and friendly research environment that has been rated as providing excellent training and supervision. We have a broad range of research interests and depth of experience in postgraduate supervision, and we are particularly committed to interdisciplinary research. We would welcome joint research proposals involving other disciplines.
