The Events Office is part of External Affairs and holds the University's calendar of events, exhibitions and conferences. We also manage events on the home page of the University website and publish a bi-monthly events ezine.
If a visitor arrives on campus and asks where a particular event is being held, it gives a good impression if those at the public-facing parts of the University know about the event and are able to direct visitors accordingly.
If your event is open to the public, we can help you promote it by listing your event in various publications - the University website, our events ezine, the Alumni ezine and Voice magazine. We can also send the information to the Communications Team, who may wish to approach you about writing a press release.
Does your department have something you'd like to promote to public visitors? For example, a garden, exhibition, museum, something of historical interest, a walking tour or public art? We can publicise this too.
By telling us about your event, we can help you by checking that your event doesn't clash with other major events around campus. Before thinking about organising an event, email the Events Office to check the diary.
You should tell us about your event so that so we can take appropriate action to ensure public safety in the event of something happening on campus.
If you want some practical help on how to organise an event, we have created an Event Toolkit. You can also call the Events Office if you'd like some more specific advice.
To advise us about your event, please download and complete the form and email it to the Events Office.
The form may only be completed by staff members of the University. If you're a student wishing to add your event, please email us at events@abdn.ac.uk.
Please note: if you're looking to book a venue or organise catering, the Conference and Events team will be able to help you with this.
