How do digital technologies affect your life? At this event, hear how digital technologies could transform your community in realms as diverse as culture, conservation, enterprise, health and transport. After the discussion, get interactive with some digital technology tools being developed by the dot.rural Digital Economy Hub.
Can a mobile phone make getting a bus in a rural area a better experience? Could a more sophisticated search engine than Google help your business? Could you help monitor the UK's Bumble Bee population? After the discussion, get interactive with some digital technology tools being developed by the dot.rural Digital Economy Hub. The dot.rural Digital Economy Hub is based at the University of Aberdeen and is a £12 milliion, five-year research centre funded by the UK Research Councils. The Hub brings together expertise from different academic disciplines, alongside a range of partners drawn from community groups, NGOs, government or industry, to understand and develop new digital technologies. The aim isthat through user-led application of digital technology, rural communities become more economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.
