Is there oil in Antartica? Extravagant claims have been made by governments and journalists for billions of barrels but without any evidence.
What's the truth - and should we drill even if the oil is there?
All the Cafe Scientifique CITY events are FREE and no booking is required - just turn up on the evening. The guest speaker will begin the evening with a short presentation, followed by a break and chance to get refreshments from the COSTA bar, and then an audience-led discussion will follow.
