Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre are pleased to announce that they are involved in the Aberdeen network launch of the Upstart campaign, which is a national campaign for a kindergarten stage of schooling for the under sevens, with a focus on outdoor learning. This dovetails nicely with the centre's focus on outdoor learning which evidence suggests has a positive impact on physical health and wellbeing and also helps children and young people to connect with nature and develop a lifelong interest in the environment and sustainability.

Launch of Aberdeen local network for Upstart Scotland Venue: Lecture Theatre New Kings 6 (NK6), University of Aberdeen, King’s College, Aberdeen, AB24 3FX. Date: Tuesday, March 22nd 2016 Time: 7.00 -- 9.00 p.m. Come and hear why we need to introduce a Nordic-style kindergarten stage for Scotland's children.

Juliet Robertson, outdoor education specialist, Creative Star
