Chen Style Taijiquan - 8 forms

Free 6 week course starting on 10th November.

Every Wednesday 3pm-4pm from 11th November until 16th December.

The Chen family-style Taiji is the oldest and parent form of the five traditional family style (Chen, Yang, Sun, Wu and Wu). And Chen style Taiji is characterized by “Chan Si Jin” (energy from silk reeling), which is by alternating fast/slow motion in order to “Fa Jin” (burst power). Famous for its external martial arts skill which is similar to Chinese Kong Fu, Chen Style Taiji also pays attention on the internal health practicing and meditation. It provides self-defence skills and has been considered as one of the athletic/competition sports.

Chen style 8 forms is the preliminary stage, after it will be 18 forms, 27 forms and 45 forms. The class starts with the basic training methods, for example horse standing, “Chan Si Jin” exercise, and next comes the Chen style 8 forms.

The outcome of the class is to get to know Chen Style Taiji, 8 forms. Students will gain some understanding of Chinese culture and Martial Arts through their practice.
