A 3-day workshop on the use of MATLAB and Psychtoolbox in Experimental Psychology

Increasingly, a working knowledge of the MATLAB software package is becoming a requirement for staff and PhD positions in experimental psychology. MATLAB is an extremely flexible and powerful programming language that can be used for the designing and running of experiments, as well as data analysis.

This three-day workshop will cover the basics of programming in MATLAB: data handling and plotting, functions and loops, and the use of the Psychophysics Toolbox in experiment design. The course is aimed at postgraduates and staff who would like to start using the software package to run experiments and handle data, and no previous experience with MATLAB is necessary.

The workshop will be run by Dr. Robin Kramer (University of Aberdeen), who has extensive knowledge of programming in MATLAB and has organised/instructed at previous workshops.

The 30 places available will be designated on a first come, first served basis.

Registration fee:

£100 for University of Aberdeen members

£200 for members of other institutions
