The Confucius Institute of the University of Aberdeen is delighted to announce a public lecture by Professor Fajun Li who is the Director of the Centre for Health and Human Development, Anthropology Department, Sun Yat-Sen University, Gaungzhou, China. Professor Li is a paleoanthropologist - an expert in the study of human remains and the evolution of human variation. He is analysing the bones and teeth of the early prehistoric peoples of China in search of clues as to their origins and evolutionary history, their development and health and their adaptive behaviour.
In his lecture for us Professor Li will discuss the early origins of humans in China, as well as his recent work on some unique burials of early farmers in Southern China.
Prof Li is currently a Visiting Research Fellow in the Phenotypic Adaptability, Variation and Evolution Research Group (PAVE).
