We'll explore how research into the immune systems of sharks is helping us understand human autoimmune diseases such as arthritis and develop new drugs for cancer.

Coffee and a slice of science! Our Cafe Scientifique Aberdeen City series takes place monthly in Waterstones Union Bridge book store in Aberdeen's Union Street, usually around the middle Wednesday of the month. Sessions run from January through to October and are free to attend. No booking is required and places are allocated on the first-come basis. What's more, most events are free (though some require booking). All are pitched at a very accessible level and give ample time for audience questions and discussion.
