Ever wondered if there really is life on Mars? Or have you been mesmerised by the night sky, but weren’t quite sure what you were looking at? Come join scientists from the University of Aberdeen, members of the Aberdeen Astronomical Society and Satrosphere for Stargazing LIVE Aberdeen; an exciting night of exploring your universe!

Stargazing LIVE encourages everyone, from the complete beginner to the enthusiastic amateur, to make the most of the night sky. As part of the Explore Your Universe project, Satrosphere Science Centre join the national stargazing celebration by hosting Stargazing LIVE on 17 January at 6pm. This family event combines inspiring space-themed talks from scientists, hands-on experiments and telescopes to provide a fun and interactive night, allowing you to discover the amazing winter stars, planets and galaxies that surround us.

As part of this exhilarating night, Sean McMahon, from the University of Aberdeen’s Geology and Microbiology department will be sharing his latest research and exploring the possibility of Life on Mars!  For more discussions on research from the University of Aberdeen, don’t forget to check out the great cafe series starting again soon www.engagingaberdeen.co.uk
