Panellists:

Sheelagh O’Reilly is Director of IOD Parc (an independent think tank in Edinburgh). Sheelagh has over 23 years of working with international development organisations and has a wealth of experience in organisation and evaluation management and development effectiveness. She has worked with bilateral, multilateral, academic institutions and INGOs in the natural resources arena. Experience gained in these varied environments enables her to take a broad view of the conditions necessary for the development of inclusive approaches to renewable natural resource management including forestry, climate change, corporate social responsibility, water/sanitation and biodiversity conservation.Liz Dinnie is a sociologist with the James Hutton Institute (Aberdeen) in the Socio-Economics and Geographical Sciences Group (SEGS). Liz works on community resilience factors affecting climate change adaptation, with a focus on social justice and equity.

Nigel Dower is Honorary Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Aberdeen. His main research interests are in ethics/philosophy of development, environment and international relations. He taught for many years on theories of justice/human rights and global citizenship, and the ethics of development, environment and technology. He is author of the book Ethics and Environmental Responsibility, Gower Publishing, 1989.

Rowan Ellis is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Geography and Environment at the University of Aberdeen. Her research interests lie mainly in South Asia in: Urbanisation and Environment; Globalisation and Development; Governance and Governmentality.
