With all the hype over renewable energy sources and targets recently, come and discuss the issues with figures from research and industry. At this interactive event, we'll begin with short presentations followed by an audience discussion.

The Aberdeen branch of the British Science Association will host an interactive conversation on the current and future trends of rural energy in Aberdeenshire. At this event, we'll offer the opportunity to hear experts from Active Renewable Energy Systems, Robert Gordon University, and the University of Aberdeen, Dr Alan Owen, a chartered engineer and expert in tidal energy from RGU will discuss 19th century granite housing and reducing heating bills, Rajini Sokhi, Renewables Manager of Active Renewable Energy Systems will talk about air source heating and solar thermal panels and how they benefit the rural community in areas off-gas, and Dr Euan Mearns from the University of Aberdeen will consider energy efficiency and attitudes to energy use. The event will begin at 7.30pm and runs until 9pm. Entry is free and booking is not required.
