Bart Moore-Gilbert is Professor of Postcolonial Studies and English, Goldsmiths, University of London. His publications include Kipling and 'Orientalism'; Poscolonial Theory: Contexts, Practices and Politics; Writing India: British Representations of India 1757-1990; and Hanif Kureishi. His work has been translated into fifteen languages. His latest book, the first critical assessment of Postcolonial life-writing in English, was published by Routledge in 2009.
