TechFest In September, Aberdeen and the North East’s Annual Festival of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics returns for its 17th year with more events, workshops and shows than ever before.

TechFest is supported by joint principal funders Shell and BP, the festival which runs from the 10th to the 27th o f September and has something for everyone – including thought-provoking lunchtime and evening events for adults featuring forensic anthropology and wildlife photography to chocolate and cocktails.

Former astronaut Duane “Digger” Carey will present the opening event at the Beach Ballroom on Saturday, September 11th. The former space shuttle pilot will relive his time with NASA, discuss the realities of spaceflight and talking about his journey from high school to space school.

Other key highlights include Dr Bunhead from TV’s Brainiac and Nick Arnold, author of the best selling Horrible Science series, who will bring his books to life at the Cowdry Hall.

The Activity Weekend will take place on the 18th/19th of September with over 35 hands on workshops, action-packed shows and demonstrations its not to be missed.
