Every effort has been made, and will continue to be made, to publish the results from the project in the mainstream scientific literature, and many papers in peer-reviewed journals have already been published or are in press (3.2.1.). This first list includes publications from 1994 which were based largely on results from the preceding project (Fishery potential of NE Atlantic squid stocks, MA.1.146) but were completed during the present project. In addition, much of the material has been made available in papers presented at the Annual Science Conferences of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (3.2.2.). Other material is available in theses (3.2.3.) and reports (3.2.4.). Publications on cephalopod biology and fisheries, by members of the project staff that were published during the project period but not directly funded by the project, are also listed (3.2.5.).
Further collaborative publications are planned on reproduction, diet, parasites, associations with other species, age and growth, ageing methods, biochemical growth indices, behaviour in captivity, the Poseidon cruise surveys, interannual and intra-annual patterns of distribution and abundance and their relationship with environmental parameters, fishing techniques and stock assessment.
