The Sir Duncan Rice Library

Description

The Library provides an environment for learning in the 21st century. The building contains the main book store with areas dedicated for 'heavy demand', reference, periodicals, music, micro film, AV material and DVDs. A secure, environmentally controlled area for the special historic collections and archives with an associated suite of supervised reading area is included, together with public spaces, a café and exhibition area. A dedicated Conservation Centre is provided. The areas around the Library to be landscaped with a pedestrian academic square stretching from the Library main entrance West to Elphinstone Road.
