New Library

Description	The New Library will provide an environment for learning in the 21st century. The building will contain the main book store with areas dedicated for 'heavy demand', reference, periodicals, music, micro film, AV material and DVDs. A secure, environmentally controlled area for the special historic collections and archives with an associated suite of supervised reading area will be included, together with public spaces, a café and exhibition area. A dedicated Conservation Centre will be provided. The areas around the Library to be landscaped with a pedestrian academic square stretching from the Library main entrance West to Elphinstone Road.
