What is the University doing to make travel more sustainable?

AberdeenThe University is committed to improving the environmental impact of its staff, students, visitors and contractors, as such the University has employed a fulltime Travel Plan Co-ordinator, who will look at various aspects of the University's travel patterns and behaviour.

As part of the University's commitment to sustainable travel it provides a range of cycle storage options across campus and works with Aberdeen City Council to provide dedicated and shared cycle routes to our sites. The University also works closely with local transport operators, the regional transport partnership, NESTRANS, and the City Council to improve the service and infrastructure of our public transport network. Awareness raising events have also been organised to persuade staff and students of the benefits of travelling sustainably and to obtain feedback about where the University can improve facilities to help staff and students travel more sustainably.
