The University and Sustainable Travel
The University generates a significant amount of travel demand, and subsequent impact in and around the local area. As part of its commitment to social, economic and environmental sustainability, a Sustainable Travel Plan is being produced. Through the Travel Plan, the University of Aberdeen, seeks to work in partnership with others, including Aberdeen City Council, and local transport operators, to reduce its overall impact caused by travel.
The Travel plan will encourage all members of the University community to use public transport, bicycles or communal transport for travel into the University and between campuses. The University is committed to pursuing initiatives that enhance the accessibility of the University through public transport, cycling and walking. These web pages outline the reasons for producing a sustainable travel plan and also give help and advice on how to travel in a more sustainable way.
