The EO is responsible for facilitating change, in management practices as well as in the way people think and perceive things. EO are also responsible for producing and implementing a number of policies and reports through communication with all University students, staff and through liaison with other influential stakeholders.

Who’s who

Amy Gray, Waste and Environmental Manager

Amy Gray joined the University in September 2005, after two years as Aberdeen City Council’s Business Waste Minimisation Officer. Amy is responsible for ensuring all the University’s waste is disposed of in accordance with the Duty of Care. Her first task is to implement recycling measures across campus, and then tackle the harder issue of reducing waste at source. Amy is also responsible for implementing other environmental initiatives and projects.

John Kingsland, Utilities Manager

John Kingsland has been with the University for eight years as its Utilities Manager. John used to cover all environmental aspects of the University but now concentrates on improving energy and water usage. This includes where energy is sourced from, how it is supplied, how much energy and water is used, and what carbon dioxide is emitted as a result. John is responsible for implementing energy and water saving measures and increasing staff awareness.

Clair Wright, Travel Plan Co-ordinator

Clair Wright joined the University in October 2005, after spending two years at Aberdeen City Council.  Clair is responsible for developing a sustainable Travel Plan for the University. Clair will be looking at making the University vehicles more environmentally sustainable and is also committed to encouraging members of the University community to consider more sustainable modes of transport when commuting to the University.
