  • 20 April 2010: Centre for the Novel Public Lecture. Speaker: Janice Galloway. Linklater Rooms, King’s College, 5.15pm. Janice Galloway is one of the foremost Scottish writers of fiction and poetry.  Her books include the novels The Trick is to Keep Breathing and Clara (about the life of Clara Schumann), collections of short stories, and the volume of poetry,  Boy Book See.  She recently published a memoir, This is Not about Me.

  • 18 March 2008: Centre for the Novel Public Lecture. Speaker: John Mullan. Linklater Rooms, King’s College, 5.15pm. John Mullan is Professor of English at University College London and is the author of How Novels Work (2006) and a range of books and articles about eighteenth-century and Romantic literature. He has a weekly column in The Guardian newspaper and appears regularly on TV and radio. Professor Mullan’s talk is open to the public and to staff and students of the university. Refreshments will be served.
