Biography

I studied Civil Engineering at University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Yugoslavia where I obtained a First Class BSc (Honours) degree with major in Hydraulic engineering in 1982, and  MSc in Hydraulic Engineering in 1987. I did my PhD on modelling groundwater flow and transport at the same university. I worked at the University of Belgrade before joining the lecturing staff of Aberdeen University Engineering Department in November 1998.

Research Interests

  • Porous media flows - application to geological storage of CO2,
  • Surface-subsurface exchange on permeable beaches,
  • Momentum and mass transfer at fluid-porous interfaces,
  • Unsteady turbulent flows over rough walls,
  • Application of double-averaged Navier-Stokes equations for studying fluid flows,
  • Interaction of urban water systems with groundwater.
