Engaging with the public can be a daunting experience! The Researcher Development unit at the University of Aberdeen offers training programmes to all researchers and staff to help build your skills and confidence.
The Researcher Development Framework (RDF) is a national framework developed for researchers, which aims to help you understand the knowledge, behaviours and attitudes expected of effective and highly skilled researchers.
The RDF was developed by Vitae from empirical data collected through interviewing researchers to identify the characteristics of excellent researchers. It is a useful tool to help you assess the knowledge, skills, behaviours and personal qualities of effective and highly skilled researchers that are needed to be successful at all stages of your career. It is intended as a reference point for researchers to assist in planning, promoting and supporting your personal, professional and career development.
