The trees are aa shiverin,
The win is howlin,
As the cauld closes in.

The drab grey clouds roll by,
In the pinkish wintery sky,
As the cauld closes in..

The trees are charred skeletons,
The wind is an auld stray dog,
As the cauld closes in.

The clouds are wee sheep,
The sky is their field,
As the cauld closes in.

The snaa lies cauld,
Smothered in shadows bold,
As the cauld closes in.

The snaa is a blanket,
The shadows are monsters,
Swallowin snaa,
As the cauld closes in.
