I Dinna Want tae Gang tae School     by: Fleming, Rachel

Source: To Pastures New – Sir James Guthrie

I dinna want tae gang tae school.
I dinna like tae learn,
If I missed aa my lessons,
I’d be a happy bairn.

My mates get tae miss their sessions,
I dinna ken why,
I think their mams are nicer,
than ye could ever buy.

I dinna like tae gang tae school,
I dinna like tae learn,
If I missed aa my lessons,
I’d be a happy bairn.

Bairns in the playground,
as happy as can be,
While I’m stuck in the classroom,
caperin like a flea.

I dinna like tae gang tae school,
I dinna like tae learn
If I missed a ma lessons
I’d be a happy bairn.

I dinna like tae gang tae school,
I’d be better on the ferm
Lookin efter aa the geese an keepin em fae herm.
