I mynd stey scars .... o' braw St. Ceerus,
An' aft fin thit I can noo sae, sae richt clairly see,
Its streetchin' oot ‘wa saans, thit steel caa loodly oot,
"Cam wa' doon, barfit waak oan me."

The fisher-chiels, fa cleek'd the reidfish,
Fan hicht tide feesh’d them i' oan the sweelin' faem,
Gied me a waav an' thraw'd me ain fer ma brakfast,
Up tap i' ma wee bittie skweelhoose hame.

Eesefu’ mait fan want siller
Weil kenn'd 'boot dom'nie's weird,
Kep kimmer an' me seely, affen, aye we syne sweird
Thit wi'oot sich thon deen, oor bawbees seener geen.
